A good snapshot stops a moment from running away. - Eudora Welty

The following are a few pictures I had professionally done for Kelly for a Christmas present. Angus was very good in the hour long session. He was so hot under the lights we had to break in the middle and get him some air. I think they came out pretty good. Hope you enjoy!!

His eyes are a killer!!

Big Boy!!

Kisses for the big guy!!

Almost knocked me down!!

Angus very serious!!
Good boy!!

The pictures were done by Muddy Paw Studio. I brought Angus down to Fenway Bark, an indoor dogpark in Boston where Muddy Paw Studio had a room set up for photo sessions. They do such a good job with pet photos. I will post more from this session at a later date.

After a storm comes a calm - Matthew Henry

I think it's safe to say we are all cleaned up from that terrible storm a few weeks back. We lost one tree in our back yard I had to cut up and many other branches in our yard. We were a lot luckier than some of my neighbors. So now we have just regular fall cleanup to finish up before the real snow falls. Lots of leaf raking and gutters to clean.

We are excited to have our town opening our first dog park in about a week. It's been long over due. Thanks to one 13 year old girl, Haley, who goes to Ben Franklin Classical Charter Public School. She started this whole thing as a school project. Good for her!!

Angus at Sharon Dog Park

We have been taking Angus to the Sharon Dog Park which is a great park, just a long ride. We also have taken him to the Hingham dog park, Stoddard's Neck. That also is fantastic, but even a farther ride. What's nice about this park is it has a small beach for your dogs. But it will be nice to have a dog park just a mile away from our house. We look forward to it!! Thanks again to Haley for getting this whole thing rolling.

A bit hot today for Angus. Reached 70 degrees today!

October 2011 Snow Storm

Another fine weekend in New England!! Never thought we would lose power for 60 plus hours from an ice/snow storm in October. It was a crazy storm that only dropped about three inches but it was a wet, icy, slushy storm with all the leaves still on the trees. That all put together made for a treacherous night on Saturday night/ Sunday morning. Down trees and power lines EVERYWHERE in my town of Franklin, Massachusetts and also the surrounding towns. We just got power back a couple of hours ago from losing it at 1:45 am Sunday morning.

We made the best of it with our generator and fireplaces. Angus still loved playing and eating the snow during the day, and helping me cut up some down trees or at least he thought he was helping me when I would drag the tree branches to the back yard and he would just want to play and try to rip them out of my hands. He seemed to be sleeping a bit more than usual at night probably because of the darkness of the house and it being so cold too.

Angus sleeping and me gazing into the fire.

Tuckered!!

Our town was wise to cancel Halloween until this coming Friday, that is how bad the roads were and how many people did not have power. So the cleanup will commence again tomorrow to have the house ready for the trick-or-treaters.  Not sure if Kelly will be dressing up Angus this year, but that's ok, he can help just handing out candy. The kids get a kick out of Angus and he gets a kick out of them. Bring on the candy!!

First Snow Of The Season (ALREADY!!)

Well, here we go!! The snow falls a little earlier than I thought but Angus really loves the cold weather and snow. He could not wait  to get out in the back yard last night and run around in the fluffy stuff!! Of course I had to nudge him down the stairs because he had to be reminded that he can walk on snow!! And the first thing he does when he hits the landing on the stairs? He starts eating the snow. All I could think of is him getting splinters in his dewlap from the wooden deck!! He will do this all winter long instead of drinking from his water goblet.

It will be another fun season with him because I am thinking it's going to be a snowy season! Get your snow blowers ready people and be safe!!

Angus' Equestrian Jolly Ball (whats left of it) October 2011

Angus was able to bite his way into making a "handle" for himself to hold so I could hold the original handle to tug with him!!

This toy was made for horses to help with their boredom believe it or not.

It actually had an apple scent when we first got it this summer

It's the perfect size for him (and I) to play with, but it's time for a new one.
